I grew up in St. John the Baptist’s parish near the Bevo Mill in south St. Louis. I knew from a very young age that I was called to be an educator. I even made my siblings be “students” so I could practice! I attended Catholic school from kindergarten through high school and graduated from Fontbonne College with a BA in Deaf Education and Elementary Education. I then moved to Texas to teach where, after a few years, I met my husband, Richard. I took some time away from the classroom to raise our three boys. Upon returning to the St. Louis area, I began teaching again. Over the course of my career, I have taught most grade levels as well as the subject areas of Math, Social Studies, and Language Arts. In 2015, I transitioned to principal while earning my MA in Educational Leadership. I feel that being an educator in a Catholic school is a blessing because I can spend each day in the company of those who live the faith.
